When the Night Rider takes refuge from a storm in a small town, she soon discovers that the inhabitants are controlled by a mysterious, sinister voice. After learning that the Creature may be behind the voice, the Night Rider fears being captured by the enemy, which would put her carefully laid network of contacts in jeopardy. Finding her past rearing its ugly head, she is faced with a decision: tell the people a story that could lead them to freedom and expose herself as a catalyst behind this evil that traps them or keep the story to herself and leave the townspeople to perish at the hands of the Creature's soldiers of darkness.
